A day with wellentime: You´ll be picked up from the campiste each morning. The surf lesson takes 3 hours. Our surf instructors speak English and are always looking after you and your children. There are only 6 participants per class. To avoid accidents we use softboards. After class you´ll be returned to your campsite for lunch. In the afternoon you can enjoy the beach near the campsite or go to Bilbao for shopping. For those brave souls who prefer to keep on surfing surf material can be rented in our Surfboard Test Centre at the campsite.
You’ll be satisfied with our practically furnished bungalows on the Gorliz campsite near the beach with a beautiful bay. YThe Metro will take you to the heart of down town Bilbao within 45 minutes. Gorliz offers bars, restaurants and supermarkets.

The best of times with wellentime - surfing in Northern Spain.
Headed off to Northern Spain this summer having booked our accomodation and surfschool for the children age 11 and 14 through wellentime. Everything went smoothly and arrived at campsite in Gorliz just north of Bilbao, rested after a short drive from Santander ferry. Campsite fine, chalet accomodation clean, great shower. No pool or play area on site but sports park next door (running track, basket ball, tennis, outdoor gym, skateboard) and a short walk to the beach and prom. Really liked the campsite, low key, mainly extended spanish families who were very friendly. Lovely and quite in the evening.
Bibao only a short train ride away if you need some culture (the Guggenheim) and some of the best tapas in Spain (Casco Viejo - old quarter). Beautiful coast walk from the beach at Gorliz.
Surfschool was a big hit with the children. Minibus picked up from campiste each morning and returned in afternoon. Great surfing beaches. Very professional and well organised. Holger who ran the school spoke good english and really looked after the children with excellent support from German and Spanish instructors who were great teachers and even better surfers. Two days and both children were standing on their boards.
'On TV you see surfers all over the world and you never think you will get that chance but after just 2 days I was standing up on the board. It was a truly amazing feeling.' H, age 14.
